Oubab originally comes from Syria. This summer, he applied for the "2025 Global Observer Recruitment Project for the Chinese Crested Tern" project and was successfully selected as one of the observers. During his journey of experiencing the volunteer work and observing the Chinese Crested Tern at the Jiushan Islands National Nature Reserve in Xiangshan County, Ningbo City, East China's Zhejiang Province, Oubab observed the volunteers' modest living conditions, the protection practices for the Chinese Crested Tern, and also learned about the artificial recruitment and population restoration initiative practiced by experts and volunteers to help protect the Chinese Crested Tern. Oubab said that he felt grateful that out there on this vast sea, there is a dedicated group of people and a designated nature reserve to protect this critically endangered bird species, thereby giving their species a chance to survive and thrive.
